I write on Quora, and I frequently receive questions asking what’s the easiest way to make money online. And the answer to that question would either be, Micro Jobs or Online Surveys. But since they’re easy, they don’t pay much. Though a lot of promotions centered on providing a miracle pill, or something that requires less to no effort but will provide a lot of cash, those things don’t exist. 

True, there are easy ways to make money online and two of those methods that are promoted on this website are Micro Jobs and Online Surveys. But, it’s made clear here that these methods take a significant amount of your time, and the pay does not equal the effort spent. 

I’d like to assume that the people raising these questions wanted to earn a large amount of money to cover a part of their daily expenses, but are not willing to work hard for it. If you’re one of these people, please reset your mindset on earning. 

It always has been and I don’t think it will change, but the only way to be paid more is to give more of yourself. When we say give more, we need to offer more value to our employers, to our customers if we want to increase our income. 

But can you make money online? 

The answer is a big yes. There are different methods online where you can earn money that can be a source of a full-time income. These are work from home, you don’t need to leave the comforts of your room, and your two main investments are your laptop and internet. An example of this is Freelancing. The advantage of freelancing is you can pair it with your full-time job. You can work on your full-time job during the day, and opt to freelance at night. Yes, it’s physically demanding, but you wanted a change in your income, thus you need to work for it. 

What if you’d say that you’re a teenager with not much work experience?

In case you’re not familiar, there is a website called Fiverr and they accept Freelancers as young as 13-years old. Fiverr is a marketplace of almost any kind of online service. And if you browse on the platform’s marketplace, I’m sure you’d find something that you can copy as a freelancer profile. 

The power of the internet is very capable of finding you a way to make money. But the general rule here, if it's easy, it will not pay much. 

Maybe, the reason why many people believe that there are easy ways to be rich on the internet because many social media influencers promote such possibility. You’re drawn to the emotion that it does exist because it’s spoken from a person with hundreds and thousands of followers. For example, they will say affiliate marketing is easy or play cellphone games and you earn $50 a day. Won’t it be great right? Very easy methods of making money, and it can make you rich?

Well for affiliate marketing, it can make you rich, but it’s not easy. As a matter of fact, it’s a complicated method of making money that requires practice to be successful. And in mobile games, their YouTube titles and smiles on the videos are click baits. Why would game developers pay so much for you to play their video games? 

But why are social media influencers promoting these miracle hacks? 

Well, the answer is in affiliate marketing. Most of them are affiliates of the products they are promoting. And most of the time, they will ask you to click a link if you want to earn what they’ve earned. Some of them are honest enough to disclose the link, but some will leave out the explanation to keep you interested. Because when we say an affiliate, each time you install or buy something using their link, they will be receiving a commission from your purchase or earning. 

But just to set things straight, there is nothing wrong with being an affiliate to a product. It’s a legal marketing strategy by brands to have their product or services reach more people. 

But what’s disappointing is, a lot of social media influencers will hide the truth about the easy ways to make money online. 

Thus, if you’re one of these people looking for easy ways to make money online, I would suggest giving it more thought and effort to rephrase your search query and remove the word easy. There are no shortcuts to making money online, and there are no shortcuts either in the real world. The easiest way to make money online does exist but it pays the least.
